Responsive: Design Process 2 - French Railings

When looking at France for inspiration for the perfume project I noticed the balcony railings and how the decorative pattern was a frequent part of design and architecture in France. The swirly and pretty patterns are iconic for France especially with the balcony railings with the annotation of romance and vintage exteriors. This made me think of the cuts of stones and the patterns they create using tessellated shapes. I thought for the packaging that the patterns could be a mix of the two. The railing decorative style but with straight lines instead of curvy like the shapes of the gems. This incorporates the gem features as well as the french characteristics of the brand.
