In relation to the idea of translating across to different culture I was reminded to look at Ian Anderson from Design Republic who came in and gave us a talk. He manipulated the japanese type to make messages.
Things to consider:
- audience
- theory in the publication - how is it displayed?
- the themes? directly related the themes
The evaluation can be in the placement of page content eg. placing an image next to another image is making a comment and communicating your theory. - juxtaposition of content
Format or way they read it represents the content
What is it trying to do?
Demonstrate how consumer culture manipulates people by manipulating them against themselves.
