Design Production: Design for print and screen - Study Task 1

Effective/creative use of print in the following areas of design..

Branding and Identity:












When looking for design in branding and identity i wanted to find a range of scale and formats in which it can be found eg. business cards to shops. I also sourced a variety of different techniques in print such as spot varnish, embossing and wax stamps which show the depth of range in process but also material.

Packaging and Promotion:












With packaging and promotional design i wanted to demonstrate the different nature it can take form from solid and sturdy objects such as bottles to paper based disposable labels. Again many different materials are showcased but also quirky takes of nets and how print can be used to the absolute minimum or in great excess. 

Publishing and Editorial:










Publications and editorial design can be very creative with print and explores the nature of image and type alongside how people process information, interact and engage with it. I like how different the same format can appear and be used and effect use of media with content and context.

Informational and Wayfinding:










I have identified print informational and way finding design and have seen how creative you can get with scale. My mindset has been reduced to certain possibilities with the constraints of creating to scale and budget but these have helped me explore different opportunities and contexts i can work with in design.
