Responsive: Design Process 2 - Batiste Inspiration

I was struggling to think how I could create the imagery of the galaxy as I wasn't going to get my own photography for it. I found this video of a graffiti artist:

I liked how he burnt the paper to get a kind of smokey effect and thought this could possibly be an option however I want a complete black background so I don't no what effect that would have on the black. The end result is quite fantasy and not the kind of imagery i'm trying to get.
